Electrical Estimator Skillset

An electrical estimator must possess extensive knowledge of electrical systems, including electrical regulations, safety regulations and electrical engineering principles. They should also be familiar with materials and equipment used in the electrical field.

A thorough understanding of technical drawings, schematics and electrical diagrams is essential to accurately determine the scope of projects, including the amount of labour, materials and time required to complete a project. Good communication skills are critical for liaising with clients, contractors and suppliers.

To become an effective electrical estimator, individuals need to possess a combination of qualifications, skills and industry knowledge. Electrical estimators must have at least a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, project management or other related fields.
